Double Wood 25th Edition
Our Double Wood expression showcases the profound influence of oak on the pure Bakery Hill unpeated spirit. This classic single malt begins its journey maturing for up to seven years in American Oak ex-bourbon barrels, developing smooth vanilla and honeyed notes. It is then transferred to a virgin French Oak ex-wine cask — carefully shaved back to bare wood and lightly toasted — to draw out the natural character of the oak itself, rather than the flavours of its previous contents.
Each barrel is matured and bottled individually, ensuring every drop captures the full depth of flavour without blending. The combination of American and French oak imparts both richness and vibrancy: layers of caramel, spice, and toasted nuts balanced by the fresh, lively character of the underlying spirit.
The result is a whisky that’s complex yet approachable — rich, multi-dimensional, and reminiscent of Christmas in a glass. Whether you’re new to single malt whisky or a seasoned connoisseur, the Double Wood offers a warm, rewarding experience in every sip.
