Dad started our distillery in 1999.

Before then there were a few empty casks, a still, and a belief that good whisky takes time. Twenty-seven years later, Matt and I are still working alongside him — and those first casks are still part of our story.

In this Set Dad has chosen five whiskies from the Bakery Hill archives that mean something to him. Five releases that, in their own way, mark a chapter in our history.

Most of these whiskies are long gone but we've kept some small amounts of the liquid back for special occasions like this.

The Founders Five is an annual opportunity to discover or revisit some of these iconic whiskies and enjoy Dad's recollections and memories - in one convenient tasting pack.

None of these whiskies were rushed. Each one took its time, surprised us along the way, and eventually earned its place.

That’s probably what Dad likes most about whisky, after all these years, it can still surprise you.

The Sunday after Fathers Day - Dad, Matt and I will sit down with you and pour these five archival whiskies ourselves.

We’ll talk about the casks, the decisions behind them, the things we got right, the things we learned, and some of the stories that never made it onto the label.

You’ll be welcomed with a beer (with its own unique Bakery Hill story) before settling in with a generous gourmet charcuterie board and these five rare Bakery Hill whiskies.

And because it’s Father’s Day, there’ll be plenty of stories about Dad, too. We might even have the grandkids along too to show off "their barrels".
